On this amazing 4 Days Kidepo Road safari, you will have a road trip to the farthest national park in Uganda, Kidepo Valley National Park. The journey is about 12 hours, which requires a very early morning drive from Kampala as you head to the far North Eastern Part of Uganda. This amazing safari will unleash the beauty of the true African wilderness.

Day 1: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

On this day, you will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe very early in the morning, and drive to Kidepo Valley National Park.

You will drive through various towns like Luwero, Nakasongola, Masindi, Gulu, Kitgum till you finally reach the park.

The shortest (656 km) route which will take you from Kampala-Soroti -Kotido via Amuria to the far North-East where Uganda borders Kenya and Southern Sudan. You will have an opportunity of viewing some of the park animals and birds found close by the lodge as you reach the park.

Accommodation: Apoka Safari lodge

Meals: Lunch and Dinner.

Day 2: Morning game drive to Narus Valley and visit to the Karamojong community

On this beautiful morning, you will have a delicious breakfast at your lodge then be driven for an early morning game drive at the Narus valley. During your game drive, expect to spot lions, hippos, wild dogs, buffaloes, elephants, leopard and several species of antelope in the wilderness. Kidepo is a beautiful park and you will be amazed by the landscape and unspoiled wilderness. Take enough photos before returning back to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you will drive to the community to visit the Karamojong people. The Karamojong are nomadic pastoralists who live in unique houses called manyattas that are designed to be temporal. Their leaders will explain to you all about their culture and entertain you with their traditional songs and dances.

Thereafter, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game drive to Kidepo Valley and Hot Springs – visit to the IK People

On your third day in the park, you will begin with breakfast before heading to the Kidepo valley. You will pass through the Narus valley again on your way to the Kidepo valley to spot more mammals, ostriches and other bird species. You will see the famous Hot springs in Kidepo and get to know how they relate to the local/indigenous communities. You may also get the opportunity to see the border between Uganda and South Sudan before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Alternatively, you may decide to rest at the lodge pool in the afternoon till evening as you stretch your eyes far to observe some wildlife. You can also get an opportunity to see some wildlife near the lodge.

Day 4: Drive back to Kampala or Entebbe

On your very last day, you will have a relaxed breakfast, checkout and drive back to Kampala. It will be a long journey that will take about 10 hours or more, so we recommend you to fly out the following day. On arrival to Kampala, you will drive to your hotel, or to the airport for your late-night flight.
